Dashboard skinning is a process to restore a sun damaged dash pad to near new condition. It can also be used to provide a textured vinyl finish on a custom dash pad - such as a fibre glass right hand conversion dash.
The dash pad must be removed from the car and stripped of all of the gauges, wiring loom etc., before skinning. Any damaged areas are cut out and replaced so that the dash can be shaped back to original. Any styling changes can be incorporated at this stage. ie., the design may be simplified, streamlined or unwanted openings closed off. Once the dash has been returned to its desired shape, a new vinyl skin is vacuum formed over the whole surface providing a totally new seamless finish that looks like the original. A colour change can also be performed during this stage.
Generally, we provide a 2 year warranty on reskinned dashes.
We work to a fixed price that is agreed prior to commencement. Quotes can usually be given over the phone.
We do not remove or refit dashes. However, we can generally recommend someone in your area who is experienced with your car.
